A Local Gem

Look guys, I know. I know I said I would post on the 19th but things came up and one week behind schedule is better than two! I’ve been feeling bad about it so I believe that is punishment enough.
My plan was to write on holiday but where I was styling there was no wifi so my plans were put on hold. However, maybe it was for the best. Maybe the universe wanted me to hold off so I could write about this Jem. A local one to be exact.
On my way home from my week in Devon, me and my road tripping buddies stopped off at Manor farm to play with some baby goats and visit my friend's Mum.
Gem owns and runs a food truck on the farm called Local Gems. It’s just over a year old and showcases the finest that Devon and Seaton has to offer. I have witnessed this turn from a fun idea into an actual business and it was really nice to finally see the real thing! The truck! It’s real! SHE LIVES!
Of course, before we dived into the tasty offers the truck had in store, we had to explore the farm.
The first thing you should know about this place is they have many many furry friends who will greet both you and your car when you arrive. They are very friendly ( Willow was my favourite) and will follow you (providing you have food) and are very welcome to hugs! Along with the happy doggos, they have goats, pigs, lots of chickens, chipmunks, ferrets, a happy little rat and a racoon! Unfortunately the trash panda Mika was asleep so we were unable to have cuddles. We ended up playing with the baby goats for a while. They had been separated from their mum’s so were screaaaaaaming their tiny little heads off ( which was understandable ) . I never knew how loud a baby goat could scream. It’s loud.

Baby goats left to their own devices, we headed to the van!
Gem had prepared a little special something off the menu for us as she knew we were coming. She presented us with beautiful falafel wraps with a side of cheeeeeese nachos! I love wraps, any time of the year babes but a hot of the stove, freshly made wrap, with a beautiful view! Ah, yes please! It was crunchy, saucy and full of flavour!
All of it just felt so british. The beautiful view, the many many doggos, extremely friendly strangers and some tasty lunch. It was lovely. I have had a few camping holidays in England before and meal times around a terrible gas stove or disposable bbq are always my favourite part, and this was a level up.
Not only does Gem do wraps, she also makes burgers and baps featuring the finest that Devon and Seaton have to offer. It is however for a limited time only! Gem is moving up to Basingstoke and taking the van with her! I’m not too sure whereabouts she is setting up, but I have linked her details so for those interested to try her new showcase or her current specialties you know where to find her! So if your on holiday,or just out and about, you should definitely stop by!
Thank you again for reading! I've got some exciting things in the works that I'm really excited to share with everyone! And if you havent already, become a sight member! This means you can interact more and I can add you to my email blast so you will never miss a post!!
Till the next time!
